Members of the CDISAV participated in the 12th International Congress of Plant Pathology (ICPP)

From the 20th to the 25th of August the 12th edition of the ICPP was celebrated in Lyon (France). It is one of the biggest congresses of plant pathology worldwide. This year, a total of 2300 participants were brought together from 90 different countries. This year’s theme was “ONE HEALTH for all Plants, Crops and Trees” which aimed for the Integration of plant health and plant pathology within the concept of “ONE HEALTH”.

During the congress, a great variety of topics were addressed such as sustainable control methods, vector-pathogen interactions, food security, monitoring systems, detection tools, etc.

The researchers Anna Bonaterra, Concepció Moragrega and Isidre Llorente alongside the PhD students Júlia Carol, Zohra El Khattabi and Luis Moll participated in the congress and they presented various works. Specifically, they presented 4 posters titled:

The performance of the bactericidal and plant defence elicitor peptide BP178 in different plant host pathosystems

Verticillium wilt and mortality of Ailanthus altissima in Catalonia (Northeastern Spain). Disease distribution and pathogen characterization.

– Dynamics of total, viable and culturable states of two bacterial biological control strains applied to grapevine and fruit-tree crops

– Morphological, molecular and pathogenic characterization of Alternaria species causing apple leaf and fruit spot disease in Catalonia (Northeastern Spain).
