CIDSAV participation at the RECAM 2024 meeting at the University of Barcelona

Our Director, Emilio Montesinos was invited to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting of Microbiology (RECAM 2024) held at the Faculty of Biology at the University of Barcelona on November 8. His speech, titled “Functional Peptides (FP) from Microorganisms to Control Plant Diseases,” covered the types, origins, and primary functions of these peptides.

 He illustrated their practical application as microbial biopesticides and, more recently, the use of synthetic microbial communities to control plant diseases and promote plant growth. He concluded his presentation by emphasizing that understanding the plant microbiome could provide tools for developing new strategies to manage plant diseases.
