Beatriz Gascón Sangüesa, PhD.

Beatriz Gascón Sangüesa is currently a researcher at CIDSAV, has a degree in Biology from the University of Girona (2013) and specializes in food biotechnology from the University of Girona (2014). She has participated in several projects of the Plant Pathology group of the University of Girona, mostly within the field of biological control of plant diseases through beneficial bacteria and fungi. She has also participated in the development of a platform for the analysis of gene expression in tomato plants for both antimicrobial peptides and products or strains of interest.

She has worked in the field of private companies, participating in CDTI (Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial) projects, for the development of new biopesticides and biofertilizers based on rhizospheric fungi.

Currently, she works at CIDSAV on projects related to emerging quarantine pathogens such as Xylella fastidiosa or Candidatus Liberibacter, both in public projects, at a European and national level, and in the transfer to companies through collaborations and agreements.
