The team, in which a researcher of the CIDSAV was member of, won a prize in the EU TalentON

The PhD Student Luis Alejandro Moll of the research group CIDSAV was one of the 104 selected participants of the first edition of the contest EU TalentON that was celebrated from the 14th to the 17th of September in Leiden, the Netherlands. EU TalentOn is a competition where young academics from all over Europe compete to find the best solutions to the current societal issues in the world. Luis participated in the Mission arena 1 – Adaptation to climate change in which he won the 1st prize alongside his team (Rootcampers). The team was composed of Elisabet Kerr (United Kingdom), Misha Gipsman (Israel), Efe Cengiz (Turkey) and Luis Moll (Spain).

The project they presented had for title “Save olive futures” and it was about creating resilient, drought tolerant olive orchards using grafting, and soil microorganisms. The objective is to keep the production in adverse conditions and the culture heritage bound to this product, which is being threatened by climate change.
