Assajos realitzats pel grup de Recerca en Patologia Vegetal de la UdG (INTEA/CIDSAV) demostren l’especificitat patogènica del fong nadiu Verticillium per aquesta espècie invasora.
El tercer any d’un estudi finançat per la Diputació de Girona (2021/1468) per avaluar el potencial del fong Verticillium sp. com a agent de control biològic de l’ailant ha demostrat la capacitat del fong de provocar la mort de l’espècie invasora i la no afectació d’espècies vegetals no diana.
