On December 18, 2024, the doctoral candidate Luis Alejandro Moll Dos Santos defended his thesis at the University of Girona which is titled “Synthetic peptides that target key processes of Xylella fastidiosa and its host for the leaf scorch control in almond plants”. The thesis was awarded the distinction of Cum laude and the International Doctorate mention. The work carried out in the thesis is part of the research group’s projects related to the quarantine phytopathogenic bacterium Xylella fastidiosa (https://epsapps.udg.edu/cidsav/en/#Public).
The Doctoral Thesis was supervised by Dr. Anna Bonaterra and Dr. Esther Badosa, researchers from CIDSAV, and Dr. Lidia Feliu, a researcher at LIPPSO (INTEA-UdG). The evaluation committee was composed of Dr. Blanca B. Landa (IAS-CSIC), Dr. Marie-Agnès Jacques (INRAE), and Dr. Maria Saponari (IPSP-CNR).
