FITOSAN

DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW SUSTAINABLE STRATEGY TO CONTROL Botrytis AND Alternaria IN FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

The CIDSAV participates as a Technological Center in the operational group that includes AGRÍCOLA MARESME SEGLE XXI, SAT (ladder of the operational group), and CASA AMATLLER, S.L to carry on the innovative pilot project that aims to develop strategies based on new phytosanitary products with low risk and formulations from natural origin.

The project wants to bring the knowledge and technology to provide the team’s enterprises and the general sector with technology that would allow to improve productivity, quality, and product preservation in a sustainable agricultural context, using resources efficiently in organic agricultural production to raise the competitiveness of agricultural exploitations.

The FITOSAN project aims to develop a system for controlling damage caused by rot in fruit and horticulture using a natural product based on natural extracts and enzyme complexes.

The activities to carry out during the project are:

Activity 1: To study the defense mechanism activated in the plat after the product application.

Activity 2: Evaluation of application strategies of different ecological formulations in strawberry and tomato.

Activity 3: Validation of the new strategy in controlled conditions.

Activity 4: Application of the selected sustainable technology in post-harvest.
