CIDSAV presents advances in powdery mildew control using ultraviolet radiation at the Viticulture and Enology Symposium

On February 19, CIDSAV participated in the “Viticulture and Enology Symposium” organized by Raventós Codorníu in Raimat (Lleida). The event brought together experts from the wine sector to share innovations and research findings.

During the symposium, researchers Emili Montesinos and Beatriz Gascón presented the latest results of the UV-VINYA project (ACE100/23/000039), which focuses on preventing and controlling powdery mildew and other vineyard pathogens using ultraviolet radiation.

The project aims to develop an effective production-scale system based on UV technology to control diseases and pests in grapes intended for winemaking, supporting more sustainable and resilient viticulture in the face of plant health and climate challenges.

UV-VINYA is funded through the 2023 Nuclis Green R&D call in the climate change area, with support from the Department of Business and Labour (ACCIÓ).
