CIDSAV participation in the Benefruits 2025 congress

Doctoral researchers Zohra El Khattabi and Marc Vila, members of CIDSAV, attended the Benefruits 2025 congress held in Wageningen (The Netherlands) between 14 and 18 September 2025. This congress, jointly organized by the IOBC/WPRS working groups on arthropods and diseases of pome fruit, provides a platform for presenting scientific advances, exchanging ideas, and fostering international collaboration.

CIDSAV members contributed with two posters accompanied by short presentations: “Sources of inoculum and population dynamics of Alternaria species associated with apple leaf blotch and fruit spot disease” and “Molecular diversity and phylogeny of Alternaria species causing leaf and fruit lesions in apple trees from northeastern Spain”, which address the phylogeny and epidemiology of Alternaria species associated with apple in Girona.

It is worth highlighting that PhD student Marc Vila was awarded the prize for best poster and flash presentation, a recognition that underlines the quality and relevance of the research work carried out.
