From the 16th to 19th of September of 2024, XXI Spanish Phytopathological Society (SEF) congress took place in Córdoba Congress Palace.

The congress covered all the fundamental areas of Phytopathology grouped into detection and diagnosis, disease management, epidemiology and plant-pathogen interactions from a multidisciplinary point of view (agronomic, molecular, cellular…).

Several members of the CIDSAV group performed eight different contributions at the congress, three oral presentation and five posters. Oral presentations were titled: “Respuesta transcriptómica-fenotípica de Xylella fastidiosa al aceite de eucalipto y a un péptido bifuncional” presented by Núria Daranas; “Control de infecciones por Xylella fastidiosa en plantas de almendro mediante un péptido inhibidor de la motilidad” presented by Luis Moll and “Patogenicidad de cepas de Xylella fastidiosa de distintas subespecies y STs en Nicotiana benthamiana” presented by Aniol Buisac.

Titles and who presented posters were: “Péptidos dirigidos a lipopolisacáridos contra Xylella fastidiosa” by Pau Caravaca; “Metabolitos producidos por cepas de Pseudomonas fluorescens y Bacillus velezensis contra Xylella fastidiosa” by Núria Daranas; “Evaluación de técnicas de PCR para la detección de Rhizobium radiobacetr (syn. Agrobacterium tumefaciens” by Gemma Roselló; “Diversidad de especies de Alternaria causantes de lesiones en hojas y frutos de manzano en Catalunya basada en nuevos marcadores moleculares” by Marc Vila de Vargas and “Caracterización morfológica, molecular y patogénica de especies de Alternaria causantes de la alternariosis del manzano en Catalunya”  by Zohra El Khattabi.
