From the 24th to 26th of October of 2022, XX Spanish Phytopathological Society (SEF) congress took place in Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) campus in Valencia.
The congress covered all the fundamental areas of Phytopathology grouped into detection and diagnosis, disease management, epidemiology and plant-pathogen interactions from a multidisciplinary point of view (agronomic, molecular, cellular…).
Several members of the CIDSAV group performed eight different contributions at the congress, one oral presentation and seven poster. Laura Montesinos did the oral presentation titled “Control de infecciones causadas por Xylella fastidiosa, Ca. Liberibacter spp. y otras bacterias fitopatógenas mediante un péptido bifuncional con actividad lítica y estimuladora de defensas”. Titles and who presented posters were: “Nuevos péptidos con actividad bactericida y antibiofilm contra Xylella fastidiosa” by Luís Moll; “Péptidos conjugados bifuncionales con actividad antibacteriana y con capacidad estimuladora de las defensas de las plantas” by Pau Caravaca; “Metabolitos de origen microbiano con actividad bactericida frente a Xylella fastidiosa” by Núria Daranas; “Diversidad y actividad antagonista de la microbiota bacteriana cultivable de Philaenus spumarius, vector de Xylella fastidiosa” by Gemma Roselló; “Sensibilidad de Liberibacter crescens a péptidos líticos, un modelo de Ca. Liberibacter spp.” by Beatriz Gascón and “Análisis de la agresividad de aislados españoles de Xylella fastidiosa en cultivares de almendro y olivo” by Emili Montesinos.
