The rapid shift towards remote learning in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, while offering flexibility, also introduces challenges like reduced social interaction and the need for self-directed learning.
The project will employ empirical research, surveys, case studies, and expert opinions to analyze the current state of remote STEM learning. It will assess its impact on student achievement, instructor-student interaction, and the development of essential STEM skills. Additionally, the project seeks to identify best practices and provide practical recommendations for educators to enhance remote STEM learning.
To address the detected needs in STEM Remote education, different tools based on a previous analysis and a solid knowledge base have been developed, namely:
Exploring
A Comprehensive Analysis of Assessment and Remote Learning Practices.
Enhancing
A Benchmark for Improving Remote Learning, Assessment, and Gender Equity.
Guiding
User-Friendly EQAA-Supported Assessment Guidelines for Remote Learning in European HEIs for the future.
Implementing
A Sustainable Roadmap for Normative Actions in STEM Assessment and Remote Learning.
The Project is structured in 5 Work Packages (WP) with their corresponding Activities.
Each WP is coordinated by one of the partners according to the upper schedule.
The REMOTE Project, funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program, involves four higher education institutions and three quality assurance agencies. Its aim is to explore the various facets of remote STEM education, assess its challenges, and uncover opportunities.
These results have been embodied in Videos (Experts Interviews, Workshops & Webinars), Surveys (Questionaires and Databases), Papers (Academic papers, Presentations and Summary Reports) and Guidelines (Comprehensible Guides, Recommendations & Roadmap Documents).
