Main building of the UdG allocated in the heart of Old Quarter of the city
The EPS was put into operation during the 1973/74 academic year as a University School of Technical Engineering, depending on the Polytechnic University of Barcelona, later Polytechnic University of Catalonia. In 1992, with the university restructuring in Catalonia, he joined the University of Girona, changing his name to the current Polytechnic School.
The Cathedral is located at the heart of the Força Vella. Built between the 11th and 18th centuries, it includes a series of walls and spaces in different styles, from Romanesque (the cloister and Charlemagne tower) to the baroque façade and steps. Its most singular feature is its large Gothic nave (15th-16th centuries) which, at a width of 23 metres, is the widest of its kind in the world.
Part of UdG buildings are in the Old Quarter, and we will do the Conference in a building which was a Monastery
